All pictures used are my own, taken around home in London or from travels overseas. Please note that lines are visible on some pictures, courtesy of my old printer. All collages are on 216gsm card and watercolours 300gsm watercolour card unless otherwise stated.

All are A6 (10.5 x 14.8cm) size and consecrated.

OS013: Taoist Talisman for Purifying the Body - black ink on xuan paper washed with saffron and natural cinnabar ink. Image from the Tao-tsang.

OS011: Taoist Good Fortune Talisman - watercolour with black & vermillion ink on xuan paper. The talisman depicts two constellations (Yin & Yang) in sexual union. (Early 12th century).

OS007: Imperial Celestial Dragon - paper on card collage, images from London and Beijing. Dragons are associated with the Yang principle; heaven, spring and creative energy.

OS016: Grey Jade Cicada Tongue Amulet - pencil and watercolour on 216gsm card. Jade culture has a long history in China and the stone is believed to have protective, divinatory and regenerative powers. Ritual burial jades were used to dress and accompany the corpse in ancient China. The most important of these the tongue amulet, was often carved to resemble a Cicada, themselves a symbol of rebirth and regeneration.
